Itinerary

Day 01 : ARRIVAL IN MAKASSAR / DEPART TO TANA TORAJA (L,D)

Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, you will be picked up by our tour guide. Then we will directly depart to Tana Toraja with approx. 8 hours drive passing through the Buginese villages with their typical houses on poles. On the way, we will visit the fishermen village in Barru district with its beautiful beach panorama. If we are lucky, we also could see the traditional Buginese “ Pa’bagan “ fisher boats. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, stop also will be made on Puncak Lakawan for having coffee break while enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Kabobong. Late in afternoon, arrive in Rantepao, Tana Toraja. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02 : FULL DAY TANA TORAJA TOUR (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will take you on a full day Toraja tour. First, we will visit Lemo where we can find hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau sculptures. Then we will visit to Tampangallo, an ancient and natural grave in a cave with its entombed deceased. On to Kambira, where we will explore the extra ordinary of the baby graves on tree which called “ Tarra Tree “. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will have an easy walking tour from Bebo to Karuaya enjoying the afternoon atmosphere with authentic life of its local people with various typical activities. This walking tour also offers simply nice landscape of rice terraces dotted by small local villages with its Toraja Tongkonan houses. At last we will visit Kete’ Kesu, a beautiful local Torajan village which has been listed on the world heritage book where we can see old Tongkonan houses with rice barns and ancient hanging graves on the cliff-side. This village is also functioned as one of Wood Carving Centers in Tana Toraja. Then we back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 : FULL DAY TANA TORAJA (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will take you on another full day tour around Tana Toraja. In the morning, we will visit Londa to see the strangest graves of the world. Then proceed to Pasar Bolu to see the buffalo market of Tana Toraja where we will prove that Rantepao is the homeland of the buffaloes. Then we continue our scenic drive to Bori’ where we can find ancient monolith stones which have been nailed since the past of 600 years. Onwards to Pallawa where we can see the original style how do the Toraja people live with the formation of its Tongkonan houses Then we will take you to Tinombayo highland to enjoy the superb and spectacular view of rice terraces dotted by many rocks and small Torajan villages seen from the mountain slope. Then we will visit Batutumonga where will be having lunch at Mentiro Tiku Restaurant, offers a picturesque view of whole part of Rantepao. Then we will visit Lokomata where we will find graves on a giant rock. Proceed to Suloara to start our 1-2 hours easy walking tour to Kapalapitu enjoying a pleasant and quite walking tour with less of people and tourists. This walking tour also offers gorgeous panoramas of rice terraces, small local villages, forests with chirping of some endemic birds of Sulawesi. After arriving in Kapalapitu, drive down hills to Rantepao with impressive views en route. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

Say 04 : TANA TORAJA—MAKASSAR / TRA NSFER AIRPORT (B,L)

After breakfast, check out hotel. Then we drive back to Makassar via the same road of 1st day. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, arrive in Makassar. Onwards, transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.
